After an epic plane trip of 200 rotary exchange students, 3 jets, 4 airports, 24 hours, 20 eventual destinations, too many kilometres to count, a thousand annoyed passengers and one Daniel Tynan, I arrived in Billund. Excited, nervous or scared, I wasnt really sure but here I was. I was met by Freddie (dad) Andreas (15y/o son) and Lasse (7 year old boy) and driven to Ry, about an hour away.
This is my room, stolen from Lasse, who now sleeps with his parents.
Lasse made a sign for the door that says "Velkommen Daniel" (welcome)
the Lysdal house
and a bikepath outside:
and now, a short ride around Ry:

on this bike ride, my fingers nearly froze taking the photos in the 4 degree celsius weather. It is now 3:30pm and the sun is setting. Earlier today, Freddie took me to a larger city to see some shops and the countryside. I am slowly getting used to driving on the right hand side of the road, but roundabouts are pretty tricky, especially on the bike. The family has loaned me a bike to use which is very kind of them, and hopefully soon I'll be able to find my way around town. Tomorrow I am going to the school to enroll and sort out my subject choices with my Rotary club counsellor's wife, and after that I'm not sure what the plan is. Soren has invited me to a music camp/jam session in a couple of weeks which sounds pretty fun. The family said a neighbour has a piano that I should be able to use.
Danish phrase of the day: Mik naum er Daniel (My name is Daniel)
Love to all, Daniel

Hey Dan, Great pics of beautiful countryside.
The town looked compact and neat.
Will the larger town be within cycling distance?
All quiet in Melb,
Look forward to hearing more of your adventures,
